Mammograms

A mammogram is a specialized X-ray of the breast that helps detect abnormalities. While it cannot confirm whether an abnormal area is cancerous, it can identify areas of concern. If a mammogram suggests a significant suspicion of cancer, a biopsy will be performed to examine the tissue further.

Mammograms are a powerful screening tool that can detect breast cancer in its earliest stages, often before symptoms appear, improving the chances of successful treatment and recovery. Regular screenings are recommended based on your age, medical history, and risk factors.

Pap Tests

A Pap smear, or Pap test, is a procedure that collects cells from the cervix to check for signs of cervical cancer or precancerous changes. Cervical cancer begins as abnormal cell growth in the cervix, and detecting these changes early can help prevent the disease.

In addition to identifying cancerous or precancerous cells, a Pap test may be combined with an HPV test. HPV (human papillomavirus) is a common virus spread through sexual contact and is the leading cause of cervical cancer. In some cases, the HPV test may be used instead of the Pap test for cervical cancer screening.

By identifying potential risks early, Pap smears and HPV tests play a vital role in protecting your health.
